Putnam County Felines Fundraiser

Putnam Felines,Inc Cat Rescue is doing a Pancake Breakfast to raise monies to support their good works. The event is being held on March 5th from 8 to 10 am at Chili's Resturant in Mahopac- Baldwin Place off of Route 6. Their is going to be a puppet show and fun activities for the children. They are raffling an IPAD and many more raffles. And I may help Judy with the puppet show. So lets spread the word and help this great cause.

More Ice and Snow


It's been some week with the weather. Each time I hear about global warming... You just look out the window and see the beauty of the winters season. For centuries; writers have written about the climate changes in our history and how it affected the empires for the good or bad. Now we call it climate change.. Wonder what the Vikings called it, the Nomads, the Romans... They probably thought God was in control of it.

"Nature of Things" coming soon to Tilly Foster Farm Musuem


A great winter event to take the children, grandchildren, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Hopefully Jonny and Alexie can go to; I plan on taking them to each program. Below is the information.


"THE NATURE OF THINGS" coming to Tilly Foster Farm Musuem

Meet amphibians,reptiles, birds, mammals and insects.


THe Nature of Things brings on their hands on science education program to Tilly Foster Farm Musuem in the Lodge. Featuring live animals, the program are lead by experienced naturalist and professional educators.


Learn about small woodland mammals, amphibians and reptiles, and noctural animals and even about those creatures we find in our backyards. We can attend all or one. Each week is a different program.( For children over 3 to adults)


Dates:

February 5th (2 pm and 3 pm)

February 23rd (10 am and 11 am)

March 12th (2 pm and 3pm)

April 2nd (2pm and 3 pm)


Fee:$ 3 per person $ 5 per family

Registration is required.

Designing New Yarn


Spinning wool can be so relaxing. Last fall spun up jacob and cotwold together; finger weight for sock yarn. Since tomorrow forecast is your more snow and ice. Time to design a new knitting yarn.

Dinner Party on the Lake in Carmel


After planning meeting for Tilly Foster Farm Musuem. Several events added to the calendar. Valentine's Day Fundraiser Dinner Feb.12th in the Lodge. A Children's Nature Program February through March. Felting Class in February. Spring Fling in April. Mother's Day Brunch in May. Always all to remember the mission of the farm is eduation on the animals, farming and the environment.

Laurel took some great pictures on the Cottage... George's mother JoAnn transformed the farmhouse into a cozy cottage. I wish I had the former nigthmare pictures to show the hard work that she put in.

But last night was great dining and socializing with old friends and meeting new people. Over good food and talk. Hope to see some soon at the Tilly events; nature of things with the children and the adults bringing friends to the fiber courses.

More snow


This week we have seen more snow in the Hudson Valley. Twenty inches by 6 am Wednesday morning. The sheep are enjoying the new snow. Lambing season is soon. Last year next Tuesday we had three sets of twins born. And the forecast is for more snow.


Last night Amanda dyed wool for her up coming felting class at Tilly Foster Farm Musuem in March. Blues and reds...
